A ROOM WITH A VIEW
The unobstructed view of the Manhattan skyline sold McKinstrie on the potential star power of the once dark and dreary apartment.
“Day or night, there is alwyas something of beauty to see,” the designer says of the outdoor terrace that takes center stage in the warmer months. The dining space features a custom crafted 60-inch table, which seats eight comfortably and is complete with matching antique mahogany and gold-gilded benches convered in a striking Peking red mohair. Overlooking the Hundson River is a section of the living room where McKinstrie has placed two of his favorite asquisitions: a 16th century French writing desk and a footstool convered in leopard, which was once owned by the Duke and Duchess of Windsor.
